Agriculture is a science based industry. In today’s economy, a California farmer manages many aspects of his business both political and environmental and it is through science that these issues must evolve. The California Environmental Protection Agency has a 10x safety factor beyond what the Federal Environmental Protection Agency requires (FDA). What once was a chemical applied in tons per acre is now applied at fractions of an once. Chemicals today have half-lives of hours compared to days or weeks years ago. The chemicals we apply have with very refined chemistry that only targets a specific weed, pest, or fungus. It is through science that these achievements have been accomplished. The same applies to politics. It requires science and a working knowledge of farming to create laws that adequately address issues so that we can continue to produce food that not only feeds ourselves but the entire world. Our mission here is to help with this educational process.
